Stimulated not only by the tragic terrorist events of the last decade, but also by improved technology and a reduction in prices, CCTV (closed circuit television) security surveillance systems are common parts of an organization's physical security systems. These security surveillance systems monitor activity in or around a property within an internal network that does not receive an outside signal or feed. Surveillance cameras are placed in strategic locations and either record activity on tape and/or are monitored by a security control center. These systems must be integrated with alarm systems and additional security elements, as well as the appropriate lighting, in order to be effective. There is a need to integrate surveillance systems with secure portals to ensure proper recognition of potential intruders
